Hi. Thanks for visiting! I’m an extremely private person. I don’t use social media. Until now, I’ve never written anything I did not have to. Somehow, I decided it was a good idea to start a blog! How did I get here?
I’ve been a student of personal finance from the day I earned my first dollar. I knew I wanted to save that dollar (or at least a portion of it) and spent quite a bit of time comparing the benefits of 401K’s to Roth IRAs to taxable brokerage accounts and so on. I’m well on my way to accomplishing my financial goals as a result of hard work, planning, luck and limiting mistakes.
My career in corporate America has been extremely rewarding. Unfortunately, it has not given me the platform to accomplish my goal of helping other people with their finances. The wealthiest folks in our society have the means to afford all sorts of quality financial advice. Unfortunately, many of the remaining majority are left to do it alone or deal with ‘advisors’ who may be more focused on earning commissions than helping their clients (you) accomplish their goals. I’ve started this site to share some of the knowledge I’ve acquired along the way in order to help you improve the path you are on.
For full disclosure, in addition to the satisfaction of helping others, there are additional reasons I started this blog. I believe that there is no better way to hold oneself accountable than to put yourself in the public eye. If I’m going to be blogging about personal finance, I better keep my finances on the straight and narrow. I expect my financial life to benefit from the additional research I will be doing for my articles.
While writing articles on the internet is the last thing I ever expected to do, owning a business has always been a personal goal. I hope that this blog becomes a real business and running the business side of it is something that I expect to enjoy. Any income that results would not hurt either.
If there are any topics you would like me to cover or questions on personal finance you may have, please let me know via the contact form or in the comments below. Thanks for reading.
